Pulling the trigger from Powerline
« on: July 06, 2008, 12:46:04 AM »
Ok guy's and gal's I'm gonna tune a Powerline 1000 and before I dive into her I would like to know if the whole trigger housing drop's out as a unit. I done tune's on many shooter's but the first on this baby so I don't need part's flying away never to be found lol. I know a few of our great member's have tune em so what's your take. Thank's, Ed

Ed, it's been awhile since I've been in one, but I don't think it does, IIRC the housing is tack welded in place, like a B's. I've got a couple of guides I can send you, if you like, just need your email addy, the one I've got bounces back. Give me a call Buddy.

Mike here's a pic of the trigger, I pulled the back screw out as shown and I see the pin top center by the welded erea. I pulled it and was hoping that the trigger would drop out and I also see that there's a latch that connect's to the safety but that should come apart when the trigger drop's out. The trigger is still snug up in there, what am I missing here? hehehehe. Ed

Ed, take the pin, or maybe a small screw, out of the safety linkage and disconnect it. Then remove the pin, from the trigger housing, it should slide to the rear. I think the safety linkage is holding you up.

Anytime Ed. A drop of glue in the hole where the little spring goes, will help allot, with reassembly. It can be a real PITA, without it, trust me on that one.

A drop of glue? the spring stand's up between the sear and lower trigger part in the slotted area right buddy. When the trigger is pulled it compresses between them and I did notice that it wanted to pop out and lay in there. Also is there any special tool needed on the spring compresser to put pressure on the back to remove the pin, it's got the safety trigger slot back there and not the flatest area back there. Thank's again Mike. Ed

Yeh, I know it don't sound right, but it helps. There is not much preload, on the spring, about 1in, and I didn't use anything special. I may have gotten lucky, but I had no problems on 2 PL's and your Winny.

Thank's Mike, trigger is polished in the sweetspot's and back together and the mainspring and all the internal's were pulled and in the proccess of smoothing the rough edges out, more TLC on each piece hehehe. The chamber etc. will get a hone and  and after all the pampering she will get all the right lubes in all the right places. All seal's like fine and in the end I just want to smooth her out for a well mannered shooter......... we hope hehehehehe. Ed

Your welcome Ed, I try to do what I can. I hope that little zipfile was of good use. The PL has got massive piston, huh? If you look in the main gate, I added a link, for a step,by step stock fill. Or, I'm sure the Winny stock will fit. Heck you know what your doin, have fun Buddy, they come out real nice. I checked earlier and the B carbine is still listed as being in Daphne, go figure, 4 days and still ain't left town.LOL Gotta love the USPS.

Thank's again Mike, spent all morning putting the finishing touches on her and a late night of tuning. I'm pleased to say that she is very smooth but what a hammer lol. I haven't chrony'd her yet but she cock's silently and shoot's smooth but she's got a little kick hehehe. The trigger is better, atleast a smooth and perdictable pull now. I will chrony her and then pull her back out of the stock to put a special camo job on her and fill that nasty hollow sounding stock. Ed

Anytime Ed. I think you'll be surprised, when you put her across, the chrony, should be 'bout 990-1010.
