Just got a refurb 220...
« on: October 05, 2006, 10:09:32 AM »
...$80 from Natchez.

Not quite as nice as I expected... while the woodwork on the stock ain't bad, the finish is inferior to both my Quest and my old B19. In fact, it's the streakiest, most uneven finish I've seen on any non-painted stock.

The gun is dead-nuts accurate, but the front sight is on a little crooked and the gun was slow (840 w. Gamo Match). I replaced the gouged breach seal (super easy to do), and it came up to 880. It should be around 920 with this pellet - although I don't know that Gamo would consider this a warrantable complaint.

Not bad for $80, I guess... especially since this model will soon be unavailable.

I had one surprise waiting - a Gamo soft gun case. Must be a promotion of some sort going on...

Do you still have that 220 Vince? If so, do you have any further positive or negative reviews on it?

It got kicked back to Gamo because of a bent barrel.

Other than that, there's not much to tell. To a large extent, ya shoot one Gamo, ya shot them all... among the 1000fps breakbarrels, of course...

When I get it back, I'll do a full Shadow/220/440 comparison and post it on the reviews section.
