O, yeah Jeff we fatten em up real good with bird seed. I think we are up to 9 rats so far. Were getting bored waiting for hunting season to open up, plus honing our skills:)

Good job John. It looks like you got her just in the nick of time. A few more days and there would have likely been a brand new litter to deal with.

Nice shootin!!! That little snub noser looks like a norway rat. The roof rats or black rats have much more pointy noses. Also a norway rat's tail is about as long as its body. The roof rat's tail is longer than its body. The norway rats get big...those are the kind I wish we had around here...but we only have roof rats so far.

Funny, but I can't remember seeing a rat anywhere since I kicked over an old bag of trash in a vacant lot in Manhattan as a kid, and I've lived all over the country and overseas since then.

I don't get it. Where are all MY rats? I'd like to get a shot at one too, y'know!

If you leave food out...they will come. You wait, at night, with a motion detector pointed at where you have put the food. Motion detector goes off and you get to shoot. It can be very boring with exciting moments...but well worth the effort I think.
