slow night!!
« on: July 22, 2008, 02:59:56 AM »
Ah,I woke up around 4:15 this morning and checked under the bird feeder. didn't see anything moving. I stood there glassing the yard and was about to go back to bed when all of a sudden I see this little black speck darting in and out of the bird seed on the ground under the feeder. I took aim at the little bugger, but he didn't  stay still for more than a couple seconds. He would dart in and out of the seed and not stay still long enough for me to get the scope on him. Finally I got my cross hairs on him and squeezed one off in a bit of a hurry, but nun the less I heard the pop. I went out this morning and found him laying right where I hit him.  That will be 10 so far for me and my brother John (scruff_dog). we are neck and neck @ 5 a piece in this rat race...lol   I don't know how many are left...I think we may have killed most of the adults. while going to get him this morning, I saw a squirrel hanging out on the ground bye the corner of my shed. I walked over and he ran off and up a big oak tree. when I looked, I saw he had chewed at the bottom of my shed, just a little not through the wood just some gouges and gnaw marks. I am not sure what he is trying to do, but  I do keep my bird seed in there. I am already planning an attack on them, If I see them near the shed again they will meet a .177 piece of lead to their little tree rat head. these tree rats must have it out for me ..I  already replaced wood at my aunts house and now they are chewing my shed...I guess I may have to start some squirrel population control around here early this season.

Snap shot....those are the hardest to take. No time to settle the crosshairs.....just pull the trigger when they land on the target. Excellent shot.
