Sorry again Folks about the over size pics. Gotta tell Ya Folks,, Possums are REALLY hard to kill!! No matter the fact I was using only 14 Ft.Lbs.,, I have used 130 Ft. Lbs. rimfires with the same results. Shot placement is critical!!  I decided yesterday to change my strategy,, I was going for the eye to "disorent" him for for quick follow up shots. Lo & behold,, if you look close you will see the first shot was just behind the eye,,well,, it still worked,, he was walking in big circles. I franticly reloaded & fired again, (Moving target) "THUMP"!!  Reload again,, "Thump"!! Circles changed from clockwise to counter clockwise,,became increasingly smaller circles,,He finally fell over.  Finally!! The first shot was from a rest,, all the following ones were free hand under preasure,,(the wife says 5 more moving shots were taken??) Now Folks, it may only be a Possum,,This hones ones Deer Hunting skills no matter what you say!! Still makes the adrenalin run!!  I Finally got him!!  Tim.

Great shooting Timmy!!! Them possums are pretty mean and very tough to kill. I think you and that panther of yours will have no problem keeping the critters out of your garbage...

Good job Tim!!  You finally got him!
The possom has some of the thickest skulls for its size.  Thicker than a fox or a coon.  1/3 of its body weight is the head..

If I may make a suggestion.. next time have the 350 and/or 54 ready & loaded next to you, especially when going after a possom.  So after you take the shot with the Panther and the prey is still standing, pick up the other loaded guns and take your follow up shots.  I 'm going to use this strategy with the g-hogs from now on, because it just takes a little too long to re-load a break-barrel especially when you are under pressure and the adrenaline is running :-)

Don't worry, no need for the truck.  Tim runs over them with his motorcycle a few times to make sure they 're not playing 'possom'.
