2 PCP's at the same time....
« on: July 24, 2008, 03:19:14 PM »

Hi to all Darksiders. If you've been reading the posts in the "regular" GTA forum...you would've known that I came over....not all the way yet since I'm pumping up my PCP's. New additions to my air gun collection:

BSA Scorpion T10 and Air Arms 410S (Carbine).....both 10 shot repeaters, the BSA is a bolt action while the AA is a lever action. Both very accurate beautiful ladies. The 410S is abit louder than the T10, abit shorter and she's lighter also. Here's a photo of them together;

Forgot to mention, the T10 sports a Busnell Banner 3-9X40mm AO scope, while the 410S have a Barska 3-12X50mm IR scope.

Gamo: Expotec .177 + Big Cat .177 + Viper .177 + Whisper .177, Hammerli Titan .177, Diana model 24 .177, RWS-Diana P5 Magnum pistol .177, Crosman: G1 Extreme .177 + Storm XT .177 + Sierra Pro .177 + 1377 pistol .177, Air Arms S410SL .22, BSA Scorpion T10 .22, FX Cyclone .177, Remington Air Master 77 .177 + BB\'s,

Nice pair of rifles. Please keep us informed on how they work for you . No one ever told me just because I used a hand pump I was not in the dark . I just recently bought a tank and a compressor . That's because I bought a big bore and shoot a lot . I try and shoot 3 times a week . The big bore gets 11 -12 fills on a 80 cf tank and only 6 shoots per fill . The scuba shop is 36 miles round trip . If I want the tank top filled I have to leave it over night or at lest for several hours . That means two trips per fill . That got old before it got started so I got the compressor to fill my own tank which should be here next Tuesday .And the compressor will be paid for in less than 50 fills. At 3 fills a week its paid for is 16 weeks  Marvin

I guess going to a scuba shop to fill up a tank and pumping up a rifle gets old quick. When I'm shooting springers...I take about 20 seconds for one shot.....break barrel, load, close barrel, bring gun to shoulder, aim and shoot....and repeat sequence.

Now that I've 2 PCP rifles.....10 shot repeaters....takes about 30 seconds to load up a clip, stick in into the gun, bring gun to shoulder, aim and shoot, keep gun there and cock gun again and keep on shooting until clip runs out. The shooting sequence takes about 15 seconds. Using alot more pellets quicker. heh heh After 40 shots, need to pump (90 strokes)the rifle up again. Working up a sweat in the process. I can understand PCP owners getting a scuba tank or in your case.....a compressor.

The pump is not a bad thing with the right gun and circumstance . With my Discovery its a piece of cake . With the big bores its a major work out. I will say that what I found out though is I get cooler air with the tank and more shoots per fill with a tank. I did the math and for me this was the best way to go now. I did talk to Van at Air hog and the big nitro tank rented and a small tank to fill off of was a way to consider but not due able in my case. Marvin
