Piercing body valve hole
« on: July 27, 2008, 07:27:19 AM »
Ok, so I've been asking around for a new valve source because I feel I messed up my old one but maybe the thing ain't so. So I enlarged the hole in the valve body where the piercing pin stucks out. Seemed a good idea at the moment :) Now the piercing pin doesn't center itself and hits randomly at some side. Is this an issue and does any wise guy have an answer for me is it possible to do with my old valve body or do I need a new one?

I suppose you could drill it out and bush it back down to size, but I don't know for sure. You could always just bulk fill it and do away with the piercing pin altogether.

With bulk filling I wouldn't need the pin at all? Wouldn't the pin spring pop out place and cause erratic velocity spreads?

hi you could do what i do on all my qb tunes and tha is thake the washer that goes under the spring and solder it on to an empty 12gram capsual drill it out to the same size as the pin then cut the cap of at about 10mm fie 3or4 u shapes out of the washer then fit it in with the 10mm end at the bottom this centers the pin as i have had 1or2 stick before and if you do this it will never stick again prob solved good luck Graham
