little morning shooting
« on: July 30, 2008, 07:32:29 AM »
I woke up this morning to some racket outside... I had my R7 at the window, but I opted to try out a new shooter.  I grabbed the lightning XL in .177 and headed to the window. I  looked out side and saw a half dozen grackle fighting over the bird seed. I picked a target and shot. I heard the pop,  he fell over and barely flapped a wing . His buddies all flew away, or so I thought. I looked closer and upon further inspection, I saw one grackle perching way above his friend who he was about to join...He he   I took aim and adjusted my AO to get a nice clear picture and zoomed the scope in on him and let the lead fly. He fell like a stone and landed right next to his pal.
hope you enjoy..

Thanks Ed!! I just got her last week. I had the XL in .22 and didn't care for it that much. The .177 version is a powerful little shooter and the trigger is very adjustable. I have it setup lighter than any of my rekords. I can't say enough good about this little gun.
Yeah Stanley, they should have let me sleep:) noisy thugs ...He he

Chris, I can just see a big smile on Stephanie's face :)

Not only did you make GOOD Grackles out of avian scum, but you performed this task with one of Stephanie's favorite air rifles !

Great Shootin, lovely photos ! Keep up the good work !

Good shooting Chris!  I love the sight of dead Grackles (and Starlings)!!  That R7 is surely deadly for them.

I 'm working on a pair of Grackles myself.  So far they 've managed to spot me early every time but they 'll drop their guard, and when they do.. I 'll be there :-)
