Hey Tim, you are darn right about what makes for good eating. Doe backstraps are one of my favorites especially when marinated in terriyake and bacon wrapped and grilled. A couple more weeks  for you to "anticipate".AAhhh.

Phil, you 're not kidding.  The "cannon" sent a 21gr Kodiak through 2.5" of pine without a problem and into another piece of 2" wood behind it at the lowest power setting!  The hole on the 2nd board was easily a .30cal hole and I can't see it.  Needless to say wood fragments flew all over the place, and both boards were knocked down to the floor with force and dust and papers were all stirred..  It was kind of scary (indoors) although it wasn't loud (w/shroud).
That was the first shot to see what happens and if the gun is working.  The 2nd was supposed to be through the chrony but I didn't pursue that further indoors in fear of damaging the chrony with the air that comes out of the muzzle or the wood fragments flying back.  I went outside and shot at my regular log from about 14ft away.  I saw the grass and leaves (weeds) around the log go back as I pulled the trigger.  The air coming out of the barrel reached that far!

If I had to do it all over again I 'd get a 40fpe Talon like I wanted to from the beginning, instead of a power tuned 70fpe Condor.  That's what I get for acting on implulse but I had been looking for 2mos and was getting impatient.  The cannon is very silent though with that 12" Airhog shroud at the lower power settings so that's a big plus with my neighbor and all..
Thanks for giving my new Condor a nickname! :-)
Wait, I think I just realized you may be talking about Tim's Dragon Slayer!  That's ok, I like hijacking Tim's threads (doh!)!

Tim: Yeah you need to go with the heavier bullets/balls.  They work the best on those monster big bores.  You should see 50-100fpe more from what I 've read.

You better not trade any more Dianas or you may be kicked out of the Diana forum!!  :-)  Talon & Disco!  NICE!!  You plan to "disco" with that Talon in the back yard?  :-)   That's ok, as long as you keep the 54 and a couple of your favorite springers, we understand :)  I don't plan on owning any more springers I don't think.  My plan was to own one 20+fpe Magnum, 1 mid-powered springer, a CO2 rifle & pistol, and a couple of PCP's of varying power.  I think I can stop at that, we 'll see if I can stick to my plan.  1 more gun to go and I 'm there :-)  I just have to get some more will power and ignore those multi-shot PCP's that go for $1400!

I think the Condor will be for field-duty only.  I 'll need a less powerful PCP like a 35-40fpe 18" Talon (w/shroud) for the backyard that I can dial down to 25-30fpe.  The Condor at the lowest setting (2 on the dial) possible, spits out .22 Kodiaks at 970-990fps for the first 10-12 shots with a 2500psi fill.  That's 46fpe.  Its previous owner said that it does 900fps at the lowest setting with 28.4gr Eun Jins, so that's 51fpe.  I can't wait to go to the range to see what it does at medium & full power with the heavies.  Its previous owner said that the Kodiaks go supersonic after setting 4 (the dial goes to 12), so the use of heavier EunJins is the only pellet I can see using on this gun if I want to dial up the power.

I ordered some Eun Jins from P/A yesterday, so Thanks for the Offer Tim!  I ordered a tin of 32gr Eun Jin/Samyang (I guess these are the "same young" Eun Jin's?) too but these are pointed and I believe offer limited accuracy at long ranges.  I wish Beeman or some other company would offer heavier .22 pellets in the 25-30gr range besides Korean companies.
