"J" use for the useless B3 F-sight
« on: July 31, 2008, 10:56:32 AM »
Here you go "j" !. I went with a bigger laser sight with no problem's. Spread the hooded sight a touch, check for fit. flip upside down and place back on the barrel. Slide your laser sight in and zero in.:) I've shot her several times and it hold's zero just fine. If one wanted they could put a touch of super glue to be sure but again mine is holding tight. I will fab a peice to fit between the mount and the barrel to give it a clean finish.:). Ed

Very understated laser trick.

I like it. Not so overwhelming as some of the other setups I've seen pictures of. I'll be keeping that trick in mind for a few side lever projects I'm still tinkering with. Thanks for the pics. When do ya s'pose you'll have some 'big bore' hunt time available? Looks like Jim Fisher is hosting a prairie dog vacation in Wyoming next month as well . . .

I seen that "J" and I sure do miss p-dog hunting like I did in South Dakota, hour's of droppin p-dog's. I'm still hooked on watching your goat hunt awhile back and getting down there and dropping some big game is alway's first on my list bud. I explained to the betterhalf either I'm headed up north to hunt or south but I'm going.Ed

Really cool idea! Might try that myself. What I'm failing to understand is how you'll sight it in. Is it close enough that you can just tweak it manually? Just kinda twist it around in the shroud, or is there a more refined way that I'm not seeing?

Never used a laser, so forgive my ignorance.

Yup it's holding spot on as I did some more testing today and ran some lead though the B. As for adjusting, there are two Allen screws on the laser. One adjust the horizontal and one adjust the vertical. Set it on the crosshair's and run some lead through to check for drift and adjust. If you decide on a cheaper laser then you might have a problem with the screws  moving around, a tiny strip of thread tape work's for me and hold's it snug. Ed

I gotcha! Didn't know the laser tubes had onboard adjustment. Very cool, and I will steal your idea for sure. As they say, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
