Our DAQ arrived !
« on: July 31, 2008, 01:27:31 PM »
Exceeded our expectations (and after reading about them for years they were pretty high). This is the newest .458 w/standard grade stock,

and a quick sight in using Robert Vogels ammo and only a 2000psi fill at 40 yards shows great promise indeed. Ignore the four to the right and low, I had'nt tightened the rings, the 3 by the dime were after tightening the rings,

We have had the Career 9mm single shot, Career Ultra 9mm, 909 .45 and let them all go, this one is a keeper. Dennis's rifle ARE worth the money.

RRRrrrreally nice John!

I am a tad bit jealous, not too much, ok ALOT!  That is one sweet looking varmint knocker, gonna use it to shoot FT?  Hehe, THAT would be a hoot and I bet the owner of the knockdown targets wouldn't be so happy with you at the end of the day.  You still shooting the BAM's?  My second one, the one I asked Big Ed to tune was the charm.  Anyways, enough about my stuff, what ARE you gonna shoot with that?  I hope you don't say "squirrels" because I have a feeling you wont find much of the little fellas left over from a slug from that:)

Enjoy!
Dan

Current shooters: Beeman HW97K .177 with Hawke Eclipse 4x16x50SFAO and Steve C. stock, Beeman R9 .177 with Hawke Airmax 4-12x40AO and Gene\'s Midas touch, Air Arms S200 with Bushnell Banner 6x24x40AO Rowan brass bling and Steve C. custom stock, BAM B25, BAM B40 .177 with BSA 3x12x44AO, Benjamin Marauder .22, Benjamin 397 pumper.

I think head shots on Squirrels will be okay,

And that will be good practice for head shots on the Whitetail which crowd the area this year.  I haven't got more than 20 shots through it yet, I cant see well with less tha 20x and am using a 2x7 right now (note: if using 422g ammo a long eye relief scope might be nice), the target was shot with 225g hollow base ammo and a 2000psi fill. It's making about 340fpe off a 2200psi fill. I dont have a trigger scale and I thought I had read it would have a 5pound pull but it feels like a super clean 3pounds ? Also it is very neighborhood friendly but that's our neighborhood and maybe not in yours, haha. The Chickens and Goats and Whitetails just keep eating while shooting but again your yard may vary.
I have an FT target a friend from the GOB club made  which has taken full power .25 Career shots at 30yards for over a year but I dont think I'll try the DAQ on it. As far as FT match's I has to sell off the LW shrouded Bam so I took the .22 HW barrel off our other one and installed our FWB P-70 top end. It's not as quite but seems to shoot as well as I do.
P-70 next to either some stock blanks or a coffee table, haven't decided yet.

Shoot them in the head while they're facing you. The headlong shot will blow the head and internal organs out the rectum, thus simplifying your butchering tasks.
If you must take a broadside shot, aim for the center of body length, at the rear of the ribcage. That way you get a quick kill, and the meatiest parts are undamaged.

If I may ask, how much did it cost? I'm trying to decide between a DAQ and a Dragon Slayer.

Pricing:  http://www.quackenbushairguns.com/LA_Outlaw.htm   ours would be the Standard grade. We have had several of the Korean big-bore (Tammy has a sofy spot for big-bores) and none of them even after modding comes close to quality or power.

Thanks for sharing John. That is a beautiful rifle. I'm going to get on the list for one some how but will have to wait till the end of the year or possibly next year.

Reminds me of a QB78 or Discovery on some serious steroids. And with a much nicer stock. I like it.

Oh,, Oh that's darn cheap for that kind of power and quality.  I was considering a Career Dragon Slayer 50 by ShinSung to thin a deer heard that's starving/ diseased and over populated in the neighborhood.  I had been to MR. QB site but didn't see the price list.  I figured they would at least be 1K.  Any idea when he is going to take orders?  How long did you wait?
