Accushot 1 Piece Scope Mounts
« on: October 10, 2006, 03:27:49 PM »
I see that Accushot re-designed their 1 piece scope mounts, they now have 3 clamping screws instead of 4.  I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of these re-designed mounts and what your opinion of them was.  I've always been pleased with the older version, I'm just wondering if the new ones hold as well.

Seems like that's going the wrong way, Jeff, the BKL mounts have 6 screws.  Just ordered a set for my 350.  No, I haven't used them, and if that's the way they're going, I probably won't.  Later.

...have 2 screws on each mount, for a total of 4. Are they stull available?

BTW - what's a good source for these since scragglepoint dried up?

Pyramyd Air has a big selection of Accushot mounts, that's where I bought both of mine, a 2 pc. med and 1 pc. high.  Prices were good, under $15 as I recall.

Are they decent mounts? I need to get rid of this gamo mount. Thinking b-square as a replacement, but if this comes in cheeper then I might just get it instead.

Oh Ya 88, they are much better than the Gamo mounts.

I have The B-Square 1 piece mounts on my BSA due to the odd size(14mm) and they have 4 clamping screws on the base, I love them, they are fully adjustable which helped because I have a bit of lateral barrel droop.  I also have the Beeman 1 peice mount (5306 I think) and it has 4 clamping screw also, I had read that the RWS 1 piece C mount used to ruin scopes if not used correctly.

I did some additional online searching and it appears as though only the Accushot 1" high profile one piece mount has been redesigned.  From what I've seen the other one piece models have remained the same.  It's now 20 mm shorter and has only 3 clamping screws.  I'm just wondering why they redesigned it that way.  It figures that they would change the model that I use the most.  Oh well.

Guess it figures Jeff... lol

I still have a couple Accushot two piece and one piece mounts left. Gonna hang on to them because they are very heavy duty mounts.

Also have 4 brand new one piece mounts that was ordered in error. They have the 30mm scope hole..  If anyone needs one of those let me know, because I will never use them. Guess they are for the bigger scopes..

You just might want to go with an adjustable mount.  Because of some scope issues I was having recently, I finally optically centered both scopes I have on hand, then remounted them.  At 20 yards, both scope were within  2 to 5 moa for windage.  The big surprise was elevation.  Both scopes were 20 to 30 moa low.  At 4 clicks per minute, that's 80 to 120 clicks.  My Leapers is 8 clicks per minute, that's over 200 clicks!  I don't know what the total range is on either scope, but that's got to be using up a chunk of it.  One of the scopes is a Leapers 3-12x44 AO full size, 30 mm tube, in a 1 pc. Accushot high mount.  The other one is a Simmons 3-9x32 .22 Mag model, mounted in a set of older Gamo 2 pc. mounts.  They came with my CFX.  The Leapers is currently on the RWS 350, but will be going back on the CFX.  The Simmons is temporary.  From what I found with both these scopes, I ordered the BKL 1 pc. mount with .007 drop compensation for the Simmons .44 Mag I have coming for the 350.  Based on their website and info on Mac1's as well, I'm hoping this is a good alternative to an adjustable mount.  And I just realized that I never even addressed your question!

Yes, the Accushot is a very decent mount, especially for the money.  Just not adjustable.  Hope this helps, and sorry for getting so long winded (again!).
