VARMIT HUNTING :The last stand
« on: August 10, 2008, 09:53:54 AM »
Scratch, scratch, scratch,----- scratch, scratch, scratch. thats what got my attention, as i was patiently putting the finishing touches on a custom rod in my dining room. the familliar sound had me captivated. another rat was invading my household. with all this weather we have been having it seems that they have takin to the indoors. i could tell that his location was in the area behind the kitchen stove.
now let me tell you right now, that the wife has forbidden me shooting in the house for the last time. i don't know if its just stubborness or stupidity, but the first thing i thought was get the 22 cal. webly and scot pellet pistol.
she was in our bedroom and involved in a good movie, so being the rebel i am i got to work.
nightfall was falling and the house was dark. i needed to bait this varmit quick.
as i looked through the fridge i found some left over maccaroni and cheese. knowing that rats like cheese, i knew he would be on it like a rat on a cheeto.
i placed 3 maccaroni noodles in the floor in front of the stainless stove and turned the kitchen light out. i went into the living room and set up a stand area on the couch. i could see the noodles and the corner of the stove from the living room but the light from the ceiling fan was just to bright.
thinking i would never see the sights if i turned it out i decided to get some white out and dab it on my front sight. now the trap was set. i turned the tv on and down low to have a little low level light to illuminate the white out.

" HUNNY WHAT ARE YOU DOING" !!oh **** what do i say!!!
nothing dear just relaxing a bit before bed , i'll be in there in a minute.
time was of the essence. i needed the varmit to take the bait quick.
as i strained my eyes in the low light levels, it happened. the rat ran out from under the stove and stole 1 noodle, then darted back under the stove.
from the size of this sucker i knew that 1 would not do.
ok this will have to be a quick shot to say the least. i knew it would be a few minutes before he came back out for the next noodle so i set the pistol
up and aimed at the 2 remaining. all the while saying to myself , i am gunna get this sucker. wyatt earp style, quick shot to the head, i'm gunna flip this varmit over.
" HUNNY I THOUGHT YOU WERE COMMING TO BED"
think quick boy, daaaaa errrrr ummm. In a minute dear the weather is commin on. man that was a brain storm. she knows i always watch the weather. it should buy me some time.
thats when it all came to fruition. the rat stuck his head out from under the stove. i was ready for his quick dart to the noodles.
c'mon you little *&%, come to pappa.
he bolted, i shot, pting, clank, piowww, fseew. silence fell for about 2 seconds when i heard it. DANMIT RANDALL I TOLD YOU NOT TO SHOOT THAT GUN IN THE HOUSE ANYMORE.
after a good arse chewing for the dent in the broiler section of the stainless
stove, the ricochet dent in the cabinet door, and the hole in the bottled water 12 pack sitting on the floor, "now leaking"
pellet gun for sale.

Man, that was too funny. Wives aren't too understanding about shooting in the house. You should have been here the time mine caught me casting bullets inside. It was a cold, lonely week after that.
Get the rat trap. Then you can shoot it while it's in the trap.
Ya wanna sell that Webley Tempest? I wannit.
PM me if yer gonna sell it. Or were you just being funny?
