I must tell you guys and gals about my operation over here..
The wife has been feeding the birds for the last 4 years on the back deck.  I could hunt these suckers every night, but i give them a break here and there.
 We live in a neighborhood that was built in the 50's and most of the neighbors have old out buildings.  The rats run the power lines from yard to yard and eat whats left over from the bird feeders.
  We have a blue heeler and can't poison them or set traps since she is so smart.  She can scoop a pea out from under the couch laying on her side with 1 paw.  Also we don't want her to eat a poisoned one.
 The only other option was live traps. which i have.  But the biggest fun there is is plinkin em..   I could do this for years...  I have watched them run down the top of the wooden fence straight for my yard scorry under the 500 sq. ft. deck and wait till its dark.  There will be many more rat pics in the future cuz I aint giving up a good thing. lol

Here in S.C. My hunts are symaler to yours. (I used to live in Texas) Six pack: Plinking & making shure gun/guns are still spot on, Ie: "killing" paper targets & cig butts!! 12-18 pack : Hunt Critters ALL DAY & NIGHT!!LOL!! Shame Ya live so far away Randall,, bet we could have a BLAST!!  Tim.
