Ya know, I really wanna thank everybody...
« on: October 13, 2006, 01:42:21 PM »
When people thought I was slamming CDT a few days ago, nobody jumped down my throat about it... including CDT! Instead, I was askied to clarify and explain my remarks, which is certainly the fair and reasonable thing. But nobody flamed me, nobody cussed me out, nobody called for roasting me alive.

Nobody assumed that I was being an ass or jerking people around before hearing my side of the story.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, it doesn't always happen this way - and there is at least one other airgun forum where they're not inclined to such niceties. Instead, they'll go off half-cocked before they even know what they're talking about. And when the true story finally comes out and it turns out that things weren't what they seemed, well... they'll keep slamming you anyway rather than admitting a mistake.

For a while, I was going to both forums... but I think I've given up on the other one. It ain't worth the heartburn. I'm just gonna hang out here.

Youse guys certainly are a decent carton of eggs!

Hey Vince

That is the way it should be, and I think that most of our members would agree. We have a fantastic bunch of guys in our forum and allot of them like you are tired of the head hunting that goes on in other forums. We all are innocent here till proven guilty...:)

We are doing great and even though we have so many different personalities, we carry ourselves in a mature fashion.

Thanks for you comments

Nicely said, Vince.  Of course, if it turned out you HAD been talking about Charlie, THEN we would have called for roasting you alive ;-)!  Seriously, I think you summed up the differences between the two forums very nicely.  "It ain't worth the heartburn"-- too perfect!  Wish I'd said that.  Way to go, pal.

what is really great about this forum is that almost if not all of us are a pretty understanding group. It is very easy to say something in one way and  it to be seen in another. Believe me, I know as cuz I'm certainly not the most articulate person in the world....lol... It's just great to see that when something like that does happen that the guys are mature enough to step back for a minute and give it a little time to correct itself before jumping in with a lot of criticism that may be unwarranted. Just as importantly, the person "in error" if you will, jumps in and corrects himself as soon as he recognizes that he might be in error. That's maturity and respect for his fellow members and the forum as a whole. That is where we shine.

Our/your forum is not a bunch of guys that form little cliques and pit one bunch against another or against other forums. That's not to say that we do not or should not voice our opinions but that we do it in a moderated fashion. Our forum was built from bricks  with a solid foundation and is not a house of cards and Gene has done a fantastic job of steering the ship in the right direction and keeping it in clear waters. We are growing every day, slow but sure and it's because of guys like you, Ed, Dave, RB, 88 and everybody else that make contributions to our house that it will continue to flourish and grow.

Thanks guys
