Lothar/Walther Barrel:::Ooops Beartrap :(
« on: August 12, 2008, 04:11:10 PM »
So i am retarded and found out what exactly "beartrap" was first-hand last night, now my Quest shots 6" high at ten yards, I can see the tip of my barrel in my scope  :(

I have spoken with a guy who had a LW match barrel put on his Quest, but he got his from a third party, I would like to know where I can purchase one as directly as possible, as well as ballpark price range. I would like to stay .177 BTW

FIX: Would it be possible to rig a LW barrel in a Quest breech block?

Thx all!

You can buy one directly from Walther choked or unchoked for 110.00. Then have it cut and fitted. You could buy a new gun for the cost of the barrel alone or call Croman they well sell you a new barrel and breech for the quest. You will need the part number though.

Thanks for the link, $100 gets me a new Quest, lol.

 Im in a quandary right now, i wont be spending money on this gun for a few months as i need to consolidate my finances as I leave the military.

My options when I Do get to fixing the gun are:

-Try to unbend the existing barrel myself: Free or very cheap    Result: Same or poorer accuracy, i will still fret about it and end up with one of the below...
-Get replacement parts from Crosman: $15+$8shipping              Result: Ditto
-Get a LW or other "Match grade type" barrel, pay someone with more skill and tools than I to chop and install it: $100ish Plus Labor  Result: Better accuracy
-Scap the Quest and start with a China gun from scratch:  I dont really like leaving a gun behind though :(

Any opinions, thoughts, advice, etc are more than welcome!

I say spend the money and get the barrel and breech block. If it doesn't work to your liking sell it. 2nd sell it for parts now and start over. Just a thought.
