New to PCPs! forum
« on: August 15, 2008, 05:07:13 PM »
I am usually just at the hunting, air gun gate, and gamo forums. I ordered a Gamo whisper and its still on its way. But after reading Timmys posts of the Airforce Condor, which I always have looked and wanted but to expensive for me, I decided to get in the PCPs forums and its great. I just saw the FX air rifles which I have never seen and they really blowed me away. specially the FX gladiator with the two cylinders and the one with the pump included!
I wanted to know If anybody had one of theese? Im intersted to know how the one with the pump works.. I think it will me a lot of effort to fill that aircylinder just by pumping. how this rifle shoot??
and also If anybody knows the prices of this rifles please let me know! I am been seduced by the dark side I have to admit!!

Welcome to the Darkside young Jedi!

Haven't seen the FX with the pump attached for sale anywhere here in the US yet, but I saw some pictures of one displayed at a gun show a few months back.

The one with the pump isn't a PCP, it's a SSP, or single stroke pneumatic.  Here's a link: http://www.youngmans.com/acatalog/IWA_2008.html  The SSP's are usually lower powered match type guns, with velocities in the 500-600 fps range.  Regarding pricing, check out Airguns of Arizona, I believe they are the importer for the FX rifles: http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/  Just be sure you're sitting down when you check out those prices :-).  Later.

As someone mentioned, check out Airguns of Arizona website. I'm keeping an eye on the FX Whisper and the Cyclone....in .177 caliber. The one with the double air tank....could be the Gladiator....looks interesting...but the price is real expensive.

PCP's cost a few bucks, that is for sure.  First time I sa one I had sticker shock also, but now that I've owned quite a few they seem reasonable.  I remember when I bought my first air rifle as an adult, it was an RWS M92, think I paid about $90 for it from Cabellas with a tiny little scope.  I thought,"Wow, this is a nice gun, cost me almost $100!".  Now 3 years later and I'm dropping 5x-7x that much on a gun with no scope, funny:)

I'm about to take the plunge myself on a PCP.  I've owned my first springer for 20 years.  Hope to enjoy the new rifle for the rest of my lifetime.  So I figure that it's a pretty decent investment.

If cars were built to the same quality and performance levels as our air rifles, they would last forever, start immediately and then purr like a kitten after having been put in storage for indeterminate periods, and run like stallions whenever we step on the gas.  No such luck! :)

Good thing too, 'cause a properly made car would probably cost more than the space shuttle.  Bet my new PCP (whichever I buy) will keep its value longer than my 2003 SUV!  Assuming Ford is still around in a few years. LOL
