My new tool is bigger than Tim's!
« on: August 18, 2008, 12:29:32 PM »
haha just kidding Tim!  Beautiful Talon you have.. but I know you can build better grips than that (and ship the old ones to me! hehe) with a beautiful finish :-)

This little cannon has torn my target logs apart and had shreded several 2x4's to pieces.  I have to keep turning my logs or move the target paper every 15-20 shots or so and the 2x4's every 4 or 5 because it rips right through them at 30yds.
Oh my Condor can also climb walls, hehehe :)

Now that is one sleek lookin critter killer  !!

If a critter just sees that thing pointed at it the poor little thing will probably just roll over and die from fright  :)

That's the whole idea Jeff.  Intimidation! :-)
It will save me $ from buying pellets and filling up the scuba tank in the long run, hehe

Looking forward to some long distance crow shooting this winter.

Im gonna make a set for mine shorter (forearm) so I can install a laser under,, gonna put a light up top,, man thats gonna be COOOOOOL!!!LOL!! Dont know how I missed this post Buddy,, call me this weekend, we can discuss our "Babys"!! YES Harry,, yours is "Bigger" than mine I admit,(My Tallon Vrs. Nice going Chris!
You couldn't resist either hey? hehe  I think we need more people owing both PCP's & Springers.  I really appreciate my springers more now that I have a PCP I think and respect the PCP's for their power and supreme accuracy.  It makes me pay more attention to my backstop :-)  I love the Springer's consistency.  After 25 shots with my PCP I notice the POI shifting slightly as velocity drops and if there is something I have to shoot I think about reaching for a Springer instead of running to the scuba and refill.  I also can't go to the range on 1 fill or drag a 35lb tank there, so I 'll probably be shopping for a smaller tank to fill from or in the least a spare Condor tank.  Again Springers win here..

Show us what you got!

Hey buddy, Yeah but mine resembles the "Tony gun" :-)  Yours is the BIG friend, hehe

I definitely need a bigger forearm on mine.  The factory one sucks and is too short.  I first have to fix the stripped threads in the frame.  I went to pick up the gun from the forearm grip the other day and it came off in my hand.  Its' the steel screws in an aluminum frame that don't agree with each other.  I 'll order a heli-coil thread repair kit to see if I can fix it.  Never done it before but it doesn't sound too difficult.

You know, you can get a frame-extender for your Talon which quiets the report a lot, but you won't have any issues finding a 12" barrel.  Someone is always selling one.  You can post WTB on the Talon/Condor forum and I 'm sure you 'll get replies the same day.  Many guys there have upgraded their Talon SS with a longer barrel.
http://talonairgun.com/forum/

I 'll call you this wknd to discuss forearm/wood options.  I don't care about the pistol grip.  I 'm getting a nice tactical (black) slip-on grip for that which I like and many guys use.  Just want a little thicker and longer forearm grip, preferrably black.

Good choice Chris! :-)  Wish I could give you guys some of my ~80ft-lbs.  I don't need all that power :)
I set the power wheel to around 6-7 today and shot a couple of 31 grainers through the Chrony.  Man did it get louder.  I look at the Chrony screen: 1041fps!  74+fpe.  That was the  highest I 've set the power wheel so far.  The last time I had it on 4 and 21gr Kodiaks were flying >1100fps.  I don't know what the hek they 've done to this gun..  I know it has a heavier hammer & spring, not sure what else.  I 'm told because I have the AF new hi-flow valve, it goes crazy when you modify a couple of simple things.  I went back down to power setting 2 and it was shooting nice and consistent around 910-920fps (58fpe) with a more "tink" sound to it.  I leave it there.  Kodiaks are at 990fps at that setting too and shooting nice 1-hole strings @ 30yds covered easily with a dime.

I got something a small bling-bling part for my Condor :)  I will post a new pic later.

Harry, she has just arrived and she looks good!

Anyways, I shot one of Dave's Condors @ Cobra few months ago and I just could not put it down. I was whacking spinners on the lowest setting time after time.

Too bad my neighbor just trapped the last groundhog that was invading my yard...

He may not be the last one..  I shot 16 of them this year and I thought the 10th one was the last one :)   You 're like me.  I bought this Condor for g-hogs mainly but I took care of most of them with my Diana 36 .177 (from close range 20-25yds).  Now there 's only 1.  It moved in a couple of weeks ago, dug its own burrow and everything, but it's been very hard to get a shot at.  It just sticks its head out for a minute and goes back down.  Not only that, it puts its head out just slightly so it can see, not like the others where I could see the neck and everything.  I have not been able to figure this one out.  I think it has another hole it comes out of or feeds on someone else's property because there are no g-hogs on my lawn anywhere.  This one is going to be very challenging to get.\

Hang in there and you 'll run into another one.  I thought you put your 850 up 4sale a while back, no?

I agree.  It's my only repeater/multi-shot right now so it's going to stay with me for a while.  I wish AF would make a multi-shot gun..
