Has anyone tried the Air Venturi Ram on their guns offered by Pyramid Air?  What about it Charlie and Gene?

I read on Charlie's website that he doesn't like gas rams.  He believes in springs.  I also read (can't remember if it was here or on his website), but Charlie said that he has changed back some Gamos with gas rams to springs at the customer's request.

This is all one man's opinion, so don't let it discourage you from trying something different.

William,I have heard way too many negatives regarding the Venturi Gas Ram,The real Gas-Ram is from Theoben, they have cornered the market with their H.E. System,I sold most of my springers in favor of Theoben Gas-Ram Rifles,I even converted my Webley Patriot to a Theoben Gas-Ram,IMO the gas-rams are better than the springers,it's basically a matter of taste , some prefer blondes, others brunettes,I like em all..LOL!The one thing that I know for sure is that I would never put a Venturi Gas-Ram in any of my guns........Untill you shoot a Theoben Gas-Rammed Airgun, you haven't shot a real Gas-Ram.....!

I own a CFX .177 with a venturi ram.The gun is VERY accurate.805 FPS WITH JSB exacts 8.4's.840 with GAMO match pellets. It will shoot both pellets into 1 ragged hole @ 25 yds.It earned it's first kill a couple of days ago.A starling @ around 45 yds.A neck shot. There has been alot of talk about the Air Venturi not putting out the kind of FPS numbers people expected. That has NOT been the case with this particular modification. The gun has around 275 rounds thru it.

Now, I can't speak from experience but from what I understand from folks I've talked-to the Theoben is "serviceable" whereas the Venturi is a one-time shot.  Joe got crazy a couple weeks back and ordered just about every Theoben model known to man!  He's my hero!

Now, I was not implying that they fail- just that they're serviceable and will last a lifetime!  Hard-hitters I hear, too.

Now of course with only 275...uh wait I just put 25 more thru it...lol.(What a pleasure to shoot).I cant speak for the systems longevity, but it does cock VERY smoothly and the firing cycle is super slick.I'm digging it!I'll keep the forum updated on reliabilty issues.I try to put a couple dozen rounds thru it a day.I'm curious myself as to how the gun is going to behave@ the 4000 round mark.
