i have an outside cat that i feed in glass bowl on the steps to my porch.  last night i was laying in bed and heard the bowl tumble down the steps and break on the brick patio.  i looked out and there it was.....mr. possum!  now what am i going to do?  the diana 54 is on the work bench with no sights on it, the bsa is dismantled because i am building a custom stock for it, i sold my 350 mag to mike and the new r-1 hasn't been zeroed.  i thought for a moment and remembered the double gold r-1's are suppose to be bore-sighted at the factory so i grabbed it and a flash light after i put my pants on!!  here i was bare-footed, no shirt and a unsighted rifle on the hunt!  i was about 40ft. from him, aimed for the head but the pellet didn't hit where i aimed!  DAMN-IT!! but the pellet did hit him.  he rolled off the steps and took off into the shrubbery.  i looked for him about 30 minutes but couldn't find him so when it got daylight i went looking again and found the critter under my water fountain.  the r-1 was just chronied at 780fps with superdomes so that is a little over 19fpe that took this fat boy out!!!!  the r-1 will definately be my critter gun.  i really don't understand why the gun is classified as "medium" powered....it really has punch and shoots as hard as my diana 54 which is classified as a magnum gun.

Good shootin' Roger. Get the R1 really dialed in and it will be your go to critter guN. The R1 certainly has a very proven record in the field.

if i had known what i know now about the r-1, i would have bought one a long time ago.  this gun has just AMAZED me on how much power it has with such little recoil.  its a little pricey but the more i shoot it, the more i believe its worth every penny you pay for it.  the next possum will be "between the eyes" with a jsb preditor.

Good shooting in the night barefoot with a flashlight, and a non-zeroed rifle! :-)

Great kill Roger, those country rat's can be tough. You hit the fusebox but his body said go-go hehehe but he shut down fairly quickly. Great pic's of that nasty critter and now that she's got her first notch on the stock we'll be looking for more.:) Ed
