online match 10-17-06 thru 10-24-06
« on: October 16, 2006, 03:08:36 PM »
go here and download/print your targets:
http://10xshooters.com/BlackDeathChallenge/

we’ll use the target on the far left of that page, the “main Target”.

5 shots total, with a possible score of 50.

The distances will be:

10 yard pistol open sights/red dot 1X zero mag

20 yard long gun open sights/red dot 1X zero mag

40 yard long gun or pistol with scope

so three different matches. You can enter one, two, or all three matches.

Pistol definition: 14" or less barrel, not including muzzle brake. No buttstock, just grips, or a two hand pistol stock that DOES not have anything to rest against the shoulder. Open sights OR a 1X zero mag red dot.

The allowed shooting stances would be pretty much anything WITHOUT using a rest, vise, bags, picnic table, kids shoulder, or playground equipment. So offhand, sitting, prone, crouching, coughing, sneezing, sleeping, whatever, etc…..

NO RESTS, everyone got that? Yes, you CAN sit with the pistol and rest it in the crook of your opposite arm, but I would consider shooting a rifle while leaning up tight against a tree a little unfair.

Post your BEST results in one of the categories below.  Read this as "1 post per weekly round per category"

Yup, one post per round, per category.  Post under the thread for which you are shooting...like this one is "40 yard rifle scoped".

Printed off all my targets today (24 of them) Now to deside what a will shoot.

Tomorrow I will take about 12 guns to the range and figure out what two I will shoot. Don't have any pistols that good, so it will be between greatly mod. Chinese rifles.

I'm 69 years old but stillhave pretty good eyes. So look out all you young whipper snappers. You better beat me or you will never live it down.

This old man is not dead yet. Watch out !!!!!!!

How's a big old goose egg grab ya?  I discovered that I can't shoot without a rest.  BTW, 40 yards, CFX, scoped, tried pretty much every position I could think of except standing on my head.  I could hit the paper, but that was as good as it got.  Black Death everywhere!  Guess I know why no one else has posted any results, yet.

Well for open sights it looks like I will use an AR 2078 mod. for PCP and other changes.

For scoped I'll be using my B-30 with a 3-9X40 also with Mod..

Looks like I will be sitting for all shots in Poss ion 1 of the manual.

Now to get down to the job at hand.

you get 5 shots at the paper, 5 shots total.  You decide what you want to aim at.  If you shoot at the smallest target and hit it 5 times, that would be 50 points.

I thought we were going to have a shooting match.

Where is all you hot shot shooters?

I'm 69 years old, I know there should be a lot of you younger people out there that can shoot circles around me. Where are you?

I think it will be a shame if you don't at least try to beat me.
