How about a .20 Cal CFX
« on: October 16, 2006, 03:09:14 PM »
Took the barrel out of my .22CFX I just wanted to see how much to get it out.

Turned out quite easy, there is a set screw in the bottom of the left stock screw that holds the barrel in, a little heat on the breach and it poped loose.

Now I am thinking of a .177 Walther barrel instead of the .20 cal.
I have a .177 Walther barrel on the way, just how accurate would a CFX with a preimum barrel be??   They are real good now.

Your idea of a .177 Walther barrel sounds great Rich. I would be more inclined to use the .20 barrel in one of my CFX's. I am real happy with the CFX .177 I have, but the idea of a .20 in my CFX sounds like a winning combination to me..:) The .20 barrel mod conversion on my S1K that I did turned out to be well worth the investment. The outcome was spectacular if I may say...

I am inclined to just buy another CFX to do a barrel mod on, because my original CFX's are my pride and joy..:)

Does this mean that the barrels you did for the S1K's will work on the CFX Rich? If so I may want another barrel...:)

The barrels are different in the way the end is machined to fit the breach.
The CFX is going to be slightly easyer to machine because of no pivot bushing to worry about lining up correctly, it's just a straight diameter with the threads on the end, that barrel in the picture is the .22 CFX barrel.
