Shhh!! Quiet.. Varmint sleeping
« on: August 26, 2008, 05:54:33 AM »
I received My BSA sportsman HV on Saturday and hadn't really got a chance to shoot it at anything but paper,  until this morning. I went to the window and saw this tree rat, that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He must not have known about my itchy trigger finger he he :)   I put the cross hairs on him and squeezed a shot off. WOW this new PCP is very smooth and no recoil at all. I have to do a little more fine tuning, because the kodiak pellet was a bit off. I was aiming for his head and put it through his lower jaw and neck . He didn't go far, I think I hit his spinal cord. I am sure I will become great friends with my new BSA Sportsman, although it's a little too powerful for my back yard.  I really need to take it somewhere to stretch it legs so to speak... hope you enjoy!! I sure did :)

Sounds like you did what I did the other day with the tree rat that I'd gotten.  Mine went right through his jaw!  Nice gun Chris!  Dammit- now I've gotta consider going over to the dark side...

Thanks, Matt, Randall and Ed!! She is a fine shooter for sure. I am really falling deep for the PCP guns... I can't sleep at night, I lay there and toss and turn thinking of carbon fibre air tanks with 4500 psi fill pressure, then the room and my head starts spinning and I am thinking about the Talon SS and air arms s410, benjamin discoveries, QB 78 or hammerli 850 on HPA, BSA super10 bull barrel, Daystate airranger and Theoben Rapids. I am really liking the dark side a little too much... although I don't think I will part with most of my springers :)

I'm jealous. No grackles been landing in my backyard for at least 3 weeks (As far as I know)...so I haven't nailed any with my air rifles. I too have a BSA and a Air Arms PCP.....and they haven't taken out any varmints. grrrrr Your BSA did good in her first hunt. Nailed that nutter good.
