Breech Lockup Q

Anyone have any tips to remove spring loaded breech locking things front my Quest? I would like to take them out to clean the holes out, and then shim em up a bit or get a stronger spring in there.  Any help opinions or advice appreciated.

When you remove the breech /barrel assembly from the reciever tube , press the chisel shaped barrel wedge againist the edge of your work bench and push out the bushing /sleeve that rides inside the breech block pivot screw hole. That's it. The wedge and spring  will pop right out, as it is held  in place by the pivot hole bushing. After checking the parts for a good fit , any slop, and  giving them a polish, be sure to moly the outside of the bushing  and other parts, before the re-install.

Another thing. Make sure the bushing isn't longer than the breech block is wide. I had one that was and no amount of tightening would take the side to side slop out of the barrel reciever fit. It actually stuck past the shim washers and could easily be felt by touch .
