another tree rat has his fill....of

Lead...I walked out on the front porch to take a brake from report writing and what do my wondering eyes see running off with more of the wife decorations...22yards out, check out the shot placement, right between the eye and the ear. When the pellet hit, he just fell over. He's a littel smaller then yesterdays two. For reference my sneaker measures 12inches heel to toe. I must say airgun hunting more than I hope it would be. I can't wait for the stew this winter...

Nice shot, great pic.  Just wondering what pellet/rifle you used to dispatch the little nutter?

Hey, Jason,

I haven't shot a Shadow Sport, but the older S1K will shoot well from a rest if you use some type of gel pad.  I've used a gel mouse pad, other guys have used gel filled bicycle seat pads.  If you decide to try this, just make sure the rifle can still slip a little when it recoils.  When I first tried this, I had the mouse pad sitting on a cardboard box for height.  It was slipping around, so I taped it down.  The groups promptly went up.  I've managed near 1/4" groups with that rifle and setup at 20 yards.  Give it a try.

Awesome yeah ill give that a shot. Some say the shadow, s1k, and cfx actions are the same, if so I hope this will work out for the gun. I hate having to conentrate so hard at shooting offhand all the time, gotta be lasy sometimes :)

Well since work has been real busy the only gun that has a scope on it is the Gamo CF-X. The gun is completely stock not even a lube tune ( waiting for the snow to fly. I need something to do inside this winter) the pellet of choice is the RWS superdomes at 8.3g and averaging about 850fps it shoots a good group at 30yards, my best 12 shots straight under an inch. (can't wait to give this gun a tune). I must admit I should practice more but with work and all I have little time for shooting.
