First posting:
I've been reading everyones posting for several months but due to an error in registation was unable to post. Thanks for all the inspiration and getting me back out into the field. This mornings hunt was wonderful - it makes me wonder why I stopped going so many years ago. There is just something special about being in the woods when the sun comes up and just being able to breath the fresh air and drink in the crisp surroundings. Called this little fellow in for a shot at 30 yrds.

What better way to introduce yourself than with a first post showing a successful hunt  ..   I love the pose on that nutter  :)

I know what you mean,,,,, from the first moment I first went airgun small game hunting I've been terminally hooked.  Unless I'm hunting waterfowl or flushing birds (pheasant,quail etc)  I do all my small game hunting with my air rifles now,,,, just can't get enough of it.  

Will be looking forward to your future posts, especially in the "Hunting Gate".

Welcome aboard bassethound and as others have said....what a way to introduce yourself!!!!....with a hunting pic. Congrats on the nutter hit....called in and at 30 yards no less!!!! Way to go. I always wondered what that big hole in the stock was for....now I know. I don't think I ever saw a downed prey shown with it's killer that way!!! And I see you're getting ready for fall hunting with abit of red camo on it....

Aha!  That's what they use those "thumbhole" stock for!  :-)

Yep - Another great use for a thumbhole stock other than your thumb. Nope - red camo is not for me, but that exit wound was a gusher. Called the little dude with a walnut button and 10 penny nail. Popped him hang'n upside down looking at me. I should have turned him to show off the enrance wound behind his eye. Personal note for the next photo.

Hi Bill and welcome to the forum. Nice introduction!! I also hunt with a Streak. One thing I can tell you for certain is you would love a GRT-lll in it. As soon as I shot mine the first time, I ordered it up. Huge, huge difference. I got a blister shooting the stock trigger while I waited for it to come in. Next rifle, I ordered the trigger and the gun at the same time. No question about it. It will be the best money you ever spent. Have a great holiday weekend - Lee

Way to go William and Welcome aboard. Great pic and story. Like the Shootist(Lee) said, you will do yourself a big favor if you go to CDT's website and order the GRT111 trigger for your Super Streak.Installation takes 5 minutes or so and you will have a much,much better trigger than the stock version.Looking forward to your future posts with your Streak.

Does the GTR-III really make that much a differance? The stock trigger is mush until you get agout half way back, then there is a little tension, that is were you slowly exhale and squeeze her off. The thing I noticed most is the scope mount is not the greatest, you just can't get it tight. After about a hundred rounds you have to loosen it and slide is back into postion before it cuts your eye socket from the recoil. We have put about 1000 rounds through her on the range and the problem persits.Any recommendations for a new scope mount?

If you simply can't find a mount that locks down securely then try this one,,,,, it will hold for sure  !!!!!

If properly installed an accushot 1 piece mount should hold on your rifle, but if for some reason it won't work I know for a fact that the BKL mount in the link will hold.  Those 6 screw BKL mounts are simply incredible.  A little pricey, but if all else fails those suckers will hold firm forever.....

GRT trigger is DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
 I have a 1.5ish# pull with about 1/8" take up and crisp break with my gold trigger.

William, you don't have to have the GRT 111 trigger but, if you buy one and install it yourself you will have a rifle that is a lot easier to shoot accurately.Night and day difference and then some.As far as your mounts go, I'm of the opinion that the Streak needs adjustable mounts like the Beeman 5039 or the B-Square 17101. Mine did. Yours might not but mine needed significant elevation and windage adjustments to get dialed in with the stock mounts and I like to keep the scope's adjustments near the center of the adjustment range when possible. Since the gun has significant recoil and can scoot on the rail as you have seen,you really need to use the stop pin in the mount and seat it well.It's possible that you may need to modify the stop pin hole on the receiver by widening it to accomodate a round rather than pointed stop pin.Mine was drilled a tad off center which became apparent when I installed the adjustable mount. So I modified the hole to make the fit.I've heard that the BKL mounts that longislandhunter mentioned grip extrordinarily without a stop pin but I haven't tried the still new in the pkg BKL mounts I bought months ago for first hand experience.

Hi Bill,
   If you go with the GRT, you'll never regret it. My Streak was awful with the stock trigger. As far as your mound goes, I would file down that scope stop's sharp tip a bit and try it again. Locate the pin loosely. then tighten up the mount, then tighten down the stop pin without elevating the mount, always use Loctite. Good luck and have a great holiday - Lee
