How do you get the stray hairs off the meat? I've never been able to skin one without some squirrel hairs getting on the meat. They stick like glue.
Do y'all eat the hearts and livers, or just the legs? Am I missing something by not eating the giblets? Squirrel gravy, perhaps?
My neighbor across the street from me has a big squirrel problem. They keep eating all of his peaches before they ripen. He wants me to get rid of his nutters. I told him I would. I mean, what are neighbors for?

If memory serves me right from world history, I believe it was the fleas that carried the disease, who in turn used the rat as a host to spread the various plagues that cursed much of Europe throughout the early to mid eras of the western civilization. I think Dr. T-Cups would give a much better answer to that question though. Now Timmy, we've seen the before pix, the dressed pix, so where is the final pix of that BBQ'd critter on a platter!?!?!?!?!? HeHeHe, tjk

« Reply #10 on: September 09, 2008, 04:21:53 AM »
here's a critter that eats other dead rotting carcasses, cat food, dog poop, and anything else that stinks, rots, and is dead.  its a buzzard with 4 legs.  its purpose in life is to despose of dead carcasses by eating them.  i've eaten a lot crazy exotic crap in my time but I AIN'T EATING NO POSSUM!!! (or buzzard).  if eating that nasty damn critter makes your frog jump.....................then i'll send you all the ones i kill...ha!!!

Roger, you big sis,

If you want to see something bad to eat, look at chicken and pigs ! They'll eat anything at all ! Raccoons are also omnivore's, they eat anything that gets in their road !

Possum is sweet, and very tasty when prepared properly ! One of my favorite animals to eat !

Flea bites transmit plague.

Black Death of the Middle Ages is caused by the bacillus Yersinia pestis, andthough simple enough to treat now with streptomycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, and fluoroquinolones, often requires hospitalization for circulatory, pulmonary orrenal support.
`
When symptoms of bubonic or pneumonic infection occur, it is a good idea to receive treatment quickly as the septicemic toxicity isquite high due to the accelerated bacillus replication rates athuman endothermic temperatures.
`
Antibiotics within the first 24 hours ismost beneficial, although IV is recommendedwhen the bacillus replication has reached highertoxic levels, or begins effecting the lungs.

I refuse to eat anything I can hit repeatedly with a 9-iron and it won't die. Bad juju, man!
