That salt will work just fine. Check the salt periodically,,,, it will draw all the moisture out of the hide,,,,, you will notice a visual change in the salt as it soaks up the moisture it's pulling from the hide,,,, not a bad idea to scrape off the original layer of salt after a couple of days and replace it with a new layer. In the meantime get some kosher salt for the second layer,,,, the salt you've got on it now won't hurt anything and will do it's job of drawing out the moisture, but the kosher salt will work better. Don't be stingy with the salt layer either,,,, a nick thick even layer is what you want.....
