JSB Pretators really off in my CFX
« on: December 04, 2006, 09:12:27 AM »
When I hunt or target shoot, I use RWS superdomes and they are great. After sighting in my rifle at 40ish yards with super domes. I have been very successful shooting tree rats and pigeons but when I switch to Pretators, my shots are not even close..... Any idea why this happens?

Each brand/type of pellet reacts different...   you would needo to resight them in with predators

Khiem,

Different pellets will hit different in most rifles. Try your new pellets out on a target and you will see how much difference there is. It is perfectly normal. Best of luck...

Ya Khiem

That is the case most of the time. Rabbit and 88 are correct. In some cases like Longisland hunters CFX, he shoots mainly RWS Superdomes like I do, and he states that both pellets react the same so he does not have to resight but that won't be possible with each and every rifle, even though they are the same.

My experience with the Superdomes in my CFX .177 are the same as Longislandhunters. Nothing changes when I shoot between the Preditors and the RWS Superdomes, but my CFX .22 does change, so I have to reset scope for the Preditors when I shoot them.

It is all experimental with pellets and springers... hehe Nothin is ever the same...

I have to keep a list handy so that I'm reminded which pellets are best in which gun....each gun is sighted in with the best grouping pellets specific to that gun.  Luckily I have a couple that group great with superdomes, but a couple more that need different pellets each.
