Hi John,
Funny you should mention using the Tomahawks in the CFX,,,, I was doing just that this afternoon,,, was shooting starlings in my backyard. Was knocking them out of the tree stone dead with single shots. My CFX shoots superdomes, predators and the tomahawks absolutely fantastic. Beautiful dime sized groups. I've used the tomahawks on starlings and pigeons and they work well. I like to use the tomahawks on pest birds because they are deadly accurate in my CFX and because they are dirt cheap. My Shadow also shoots the tomahawks fantastic.
I've only taken 1 squirrel with a tomahawk, it was a while ago. It was a 10 yard shot, hit the squirrel in the left shoulder, pellet went through the shoulder, through the body and exited through the opposite shoulder leaving a good sized, bleeding hole in the process. Squirrel dropped dead as a stone. It was only a 10 yard shot, and I know a longer shot would've been a better test of the pellet on tough skinned game, but it did do a heck of a job on that little bushytail.
I have way to may squirrels in my yard right now, and am in the process of trying to "thin out the herd", so next time I get the opportunity I'll fire up the CFX with a tomahawk and aim it at one of my pesky squirrels. I'll make a post on how they perform. I'll also run some through the chrony and see what kind of FPS they give me.
