First Question for the shop

Question: Hhow do you make a CUBE on a lathe????

You know a cube like a dice, and you can only use the lathe.

Hehe,

Start with square stock and face off a chunk as long as the piece is wide:)  C'mon Rich, we need somethiung harder than this!

Just messing with ya, I'm sure there is a real answer.  My only real thought is to start with round stock.  You'd need a 4 jaw chuck.  Cut a length of round stock, flip it in the chuck 90 degrees, face it off, flip 180 degrees, face again, flip 90...etc...till you have 6 faced sides of equal size...am I close?  As you can probably tell I know little or nothing about using a metal lathe, ask me how to make a set of Crosman grips from wood, more my speed:)

I forgot you start with a ROUND BALLl !!

This make it harder ? but you get it.
