.

A sordid story.

I should get the trigger unit back tomorrow or Saturday.

It's stock 18fpe, but I was told I could get the trigger unit electronically recalibrated up a bit.

I was hoping for 21-23fpe, but nobody was sure what could be done.

I sent it to AoA and they called Daystate and talked to them, particularly Tony Belas, the sales manager.

He told them not to do it, and if I had it done, my 3-year warranty was gone.

I thought thay would at least do 20fpe, to takeaway any handicap from not having the HFT limit available.

You'd think that a $2200.00 gun would be able to do 20fpe

I was later told that they did this at the factory, but whether they just dropped the fpe from the max or popped it up was unclear. I had NO IDEA that I could have at least asked to have something at the factory.

Daystate may make a great gun, but their pre-sale customer support is some of the worst I've seen. There's hardly any info that tells about the purchasing options, except for the AoA warning of 2 months between shipments.

If you can't tell from my prose, I'm really pi$$ed off.

AoA was pretty good about it.

Thanks for the commiseration, Gene, but I'm a smallish guy, and couldn't handle the stuff you big boys can. :D

I don't like shooting things much, so that kind of fire power would only be good for knocking down buildings and such :) :) :o :o 8) 8)

I'll get a .2240fpe AirWolf and it will kill any paper or metal meanie I am likely to come across. :) :D

I wish salespeople would stop trying to think for you :o

(Dan raises hand) I'll take good care of her Gene buddy, just leave the garage unlocked, Fritz at Bob's, and some cookies on your workbench...I like cookies, and SC is a long drive from here, so I'll be hungry:)  You got a pump to go with that thing, I don't think my CO2 powerlets will fit anywhere on there?

LOL Dan

I would think that since Jeff is one of the great hunters on this forum that he might bite... hehe He could really put the Samatra to the test. He probably could go deer hunting with it..:) Jeff does not mind a heavy air gun either.. lol

I know you would give it a good home...:)

Hey Gene,

I'd be more than happy to take that Sumatra off your hands for awhile and give it a good "field test" and see how it performs on some big critters.  You're only a couple hours drive away,,, I could motor down,,, pick up the gun,,, drive home and begin the field tests.  I'll return the gun to ya after the field tests are completed,,,,, should only take me 5 or 6 years  to put her through her paces  8)

-=ed,

Just between me and you, paying that kind of money for a rifle, I would send it straight back for false advertisement and demand my money back. If they didn't like that I would threaten them with a law suit ! I wouldn't be done the way they have done you from the beginning. Best of luck...

I looked at the web-page, and it looks like it was changed it, but I could have misread. I would have expected better customer service. I guess you have to live in England to count on that.

My fault... I should have called England. Even "connected" people may not know the whole story. E-mails don't get answered... what can you do.A phone callwould have been $20-50, and I would have had my answer. I probably would have gotten it anyway, but I'd know Iwouldn't be shooting EunJins at 55yards with it.

So I may well buy a 30 or 40fpe .22 Airwolf, because it's such a FANTASTIC gun, but I'm going to get something in writing concerning what power levels [35fpe down from 40]I want before I buy. I think they won't have so much trouble coming down in power, but I'm going to be sure.

I've taken a fancy to the S400erb, or maybe I'll splurge on a Walther Dominator, but I'll get what I want.
