Anyone used Cornelius Compressor??
« on: May 19, 2009, 03:50:36 PM »
Has anyone used or have one of the military surplus Cornelius air compressors??  I have seen them go for App $400??  I know they are slow .5 CFM but if you're filling a bottle who cares?

With a valve change this same compressor is sold as a 3000 psi compressor. I missed out on an auction a few weeks back on one of these set up from the mfg. at 3000 PSI.

That 24VDC power rating is a sign that it probably came out of an aircraft.  In fact, the area it's in is "aircraft parts".  Given that the military usually doesn't put anything up for public sale until it's either impossible or not economically feasible to repair or the end equipment it's meant for is out of the inventory, I'd pass.

OTOH, you could get lucky and get a still-serviceable item that is only being sold because it's been declared obsolete, but that's kind of rare.

Probably obsolete - This guy puts one up every time that one gets bought. Must be some kind of demand.

On one of the paint ball websites they tell what parts you need to convert to 3000 psi and they sell a coupler if you want to drive it with a 1 hp 110 V elect motor.
