I am new to GTA and forums in general, so I hope I don't mess up this post...
Anyway, I just wanted to voice my opinion about the b28 (BAM 28, XS-28, B-28, others?? -- too many variables).
I just purchased it from cobra (I didn't know about MM at the time--not until finding this forum--I may have it tuned by MM at a later date), and even though it does not have a tune, it is amazing---especially for the price.
Out of the box, it was clean and the stock was beautiful. This was a wonderful surprise because I was expecting some flaws. To qualify, I have only had an old Benji-S underlever, a few different Gamo .177's, a Ruger Air Hawk and a couple other 'inexpensive' models over the last 2+ years.
After a barrel clean, I only had a couple of smokers and then it was time to sight in with the stock sights...in less than 10 shots I was able to hit a pop can at 20 yards on every shot. It did take a few more shots to settle in to 2"+ group, and that is more my shooting ability than the rifle...I have never fired a magnum before.
I will say that even though it is a heavy gun, and I will require a lot of practice to be any good at hunting with this much power, it is a smooth gun!
I hope to get another chrony and I have ordered a bunch of different pellets so I can post some numbers for the group, and maybe I get a couple thousand shots thru it over the next month or two.
Anyway, I thought I'd add my initial two cents worth.
Thanks, Ed.
