The (SCFFS) South Carolina Fun And Fowl Shoot.
Well today, my buddy from church, Tony Haney, (Round Man)
and myself went down to see and shoot with Gene.
What an awesome and friendly guy. I can't really express how much
of a pleasure and honor it was to shoot and talk with him.
I knew Gene had missed the SC fun shoot and has been locked up in that
house for weeks. I called him and told him I was wanting to come down and we
could have our own shoot. He said come on so off we went. We were trying to
get Timbo up but Kimmie Sue and hubby came in so he had to stay with them.
I know he was happy to see them. (I don't blame ya buddy, I would have stayed
home too.)
I know you couldn't make it Timbo but I took some pics so you wouldn't feel
completely left out. We got there around 12:30 and shot air rifles and the breeze
untill we left around 5:30. I picked up some KFC grilled chicken, Corn on the cob,
mashed tatters and gravy and some fine china from the local Ingles grocery store.
(No dishes to wash except for 3 forks and 2 spoons).
My buddy, Round, has never realy shot many of the nicer "bb guns".
He has shot my TX and disco a time or two but today was a real treat for him.
I think his favorite rifle was the BSA lightning in .177. He shot that rifle all
day and will have a smile on his face to prove it for a week.
Gene just kept pulling rifles out from the Chinese "B" series up to the FX, Marauder
and BSA Ultra. All were very nice shooters.
I will have to say, this was the most rewarding and fun day I have had in a long time.
I believe Gene enjoyed the company, and the food from the looks of his plate. The fun
Round man had was worth the entire tripe, even if I did loose my air conditioner compressor
and cruse control all in one day. Nothing that cant be fixed though.
It will give me something to do next week.
Well enough chatter, now for the pics.
Can you guess who Round man is.
I'm the skin and bones guy in the last picture.
The smile on Tony's face sums up how we enjoyed the trip.
Thanks Gene,
We had a wonderful time.
Just don't let Round hold the string on that rat next time I'm shootin at it.
