Beautiful Day and Great Friends Showed Up..
« on: June 06, 2009, 09:44:06 AM »

Well Paul "ShadowShot" and his friend Tony showed up at my house today around 11:30am. Paul and I have talked several times on the phone and wanted to come down from up in North Carolina for a day of fun. Paul is a another great fellow air gunner and between Paul and I we corrupted Tony his good friend into looking to buy an air rifle. Paul brought the food and his guns and we chowed down and then shot for several hours. I brought out my stable of guns or at least part of them for Paul and Tony to taste. Looks like Tony fell in love with my BSA Lightning .177 and Paul was quite impressed with my new Marauder .177. Nothing more makes me happier than to see fellow air gunners enjoying themselves shooting anything that moves...:) Paul had a really sweet TX-200 which would not miss a target.

So we sit and shot all afternoon, an told fish stories until around 5:30PM. Sorry to see them leave but they had a long drive ahead of them. Had a fantastic time and Paul is one cool dude. Paul took some pictures which I am sure he will post later.

Had a great time guys and thanks for the visit.

THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

South Carolina Fun And Fowl Shoot
« Reply #2 on: June 06, 2009, 01:56:57 PM »

The (SCFFS) South Carolina Fun And Fowl Shoot.

Well today, my buddy from church, Tony Haney, (Round Man)
and myself went down to see and shoot with Gene.
What an awesome and friendly guy. I can't really express how much
of a pleasure and honor it was to shoot and talk with him.

I knew Gene had missed the SC fun shoot and has been locked up in that
house for weeks. I called him and told him I was wanting to come down and we
could have our own shoot. He said come on so off we went. We were trying to
get Timbo up but  Kimmie Sue and hubby came in so he had to stay with them.
I know he was happy  to see them. (I don't blame ya buddy, I would have stayed
home too.)

I know you couldn't make it Timbo but I took some pics so you wouldn't feel
completely left out. We got there around 12:30 and shot air rifles and the breeze
untill we left around 5:30. I picked up some KFC grilled chicken, Corn on the cob,
mashed tatters and gravy and some fine china  from  the local Ingles grocery store.
(No dishes to wash except for 3 forks and 2 spoons).

My buddy, Round, has never realy shot many of the nicer "bb guns".
He has shot my TX and disco a time or two but today was a real treat for him.
I think his favorite rifle was the BSA lightning in .177. He shot that rifle all
day and will have a smile on his face to prove it for a week.
Gene just kept pulling rifles out from the Chinese  "B" series up to the FX, Marauder
and BSA Ultra. All were very nice shooters.

I will have to say, this was the most rewarding and fun day I have had in a long time.
I believe Gene enjoyed the company, and the food from the looks of his plate. The fun
Round man had was worth the entire tripe, even if I did loose my air conditioner compressor
and cruse control all in one day. Nothing that cant be fixed though.
It will give me something to do next week.

Well enough chatter, now for the pics.
Can you guess who Round man is.
I'm the skin and bones guy in the last picture.
The smile on Tony's face sums up how we enjoyed the trip.

Thanks Gene,
We had a wonderful time.
Just don't let Round hold the string on that rat next time I'm shootin at it.

Glad you guy's made it to Gene's. I know he enjoyed to company. Some day I'll be able to shoot with him too. I notice your wearing an AirCast pneumatic boot on that busted up leg Gene. That's a nice one. I believe it's the best one out there to help you heal and get around! Hope you get done with it soon.

It sure is fun to let people enjoy the fine art of airguns when they grew up shooting rifles and think they are just a 'BB gun!'

You hooked another one!

I'm glad you got some company and had a fun day.
