It was great! It was REALLY nice to be back for a little while. Especially this time. My kids came on this trip.

Watched the fireworks at Pearl Harbor, then rushed back to the hotel and watched the fireworks there. From our room we watched the Fireworks from Hickam AFB and a few other places. LOTS of smimming and snorkeling. A buddy of mine that was supposed to take me spear fishing was out on emergency deployment, so I never ended up doing any fishing at all. Went to a couple Luaus and a few tours. LOTS of stuff got done that I never did while I was living there.

Here's some views from our hotel room

Thanks Chris! Kua'i is a nice place this time of year too. Morning mist then sun and a mid afternoon shower. Gotta love it!

Pete, I've dove in waters close to here, but not quite in the same spot. Visibility is 50-70 meters at 60-80 feet. Once you go deeper, all the surface dwelling marine life starts to choke out the light pretty quiclkly.

Those man made reefs are on the bottom in 110 feet of water. That was part of an old oil platform. I have a few pics of Japanese Reefs and an old Navy Tender that was sunk for a reef. Also an old United Airlines twin prop passenger plane.

For wreck dives, this is probably one of the best spots from what I've been told. For more of a Nature/Reef dive, then Hanauma Bay is where you wanna go. The water there is so clear and TEEMING with life!

Great vacation and pictures Sam. I always loved Kua'i and spent most of my time snorkeling. It is quiet and not allot of people there. At least 20  years ago..:)
