John,

The only answer that I have for this is, everyone that I have meet that was doing something wrong while driving, says that it's OK, there experienced drivers !

I guess its that "Not Me" philosophy !

And sometimes banning something just makes people want to have it more ?

Personally, I think that folks in those type of jobs, should HAVE to turn in the c-phones or whatever they have when they start their shift, - with no exceptions. With today's communications, if there's a family emergency, (not usually the case really) the company will contact then immediately. Before c-phones etc., that approach worked just fine.
.
In fact where I work now, for a defense contractor, NO ONE is allowed to bring a c-phone or ANY device that takes pictures into the building. You can leave it at the receptionists desk, or take back to your car and leave it there. The world hasn't ended, ... and the program works just fine.

I read that article and it/they say while the air traffic controller was speaking to his girlfriend....it didn't really had anything to do with the mid-air crash.  And his supervisor was not there when it happened (Even if he was there.....nothing could have been done).  Both of these fellows will end up losing their jobs and get some kind of record....they just did the wrong thing at the wrong time.  I'm not saying what they did shouldn't have consequences.......  Maybe the Air Traffic Controller society or whatever or the city is putting the blame on those two, so they themselves do not get sued.
