Ponchatoula bbq. Sorry, I had to.
« on: October 19, 2009, 09:08:56 AM »

Limped to Ponchatoula for the comp this past weekend. My bbq buddies unloaded and set up my stuff for me and when it was over they helped me pack it all up. You meet the nicest people competing at these bbq comps. My pnumonia is slowly going away and I would call myself 80%. Doc said I could go but no drinking. Just try cooking all weekend without drinking a beer!!! I did it though and managed to get some rest in the down times. Hit the sack at 2200 each night.

Anyway here are the chicken, ribs, and brisket. The ribs won me $75.00 with 10th place. Brisket was 11th and the chicken, well I just don't know. It tasted fabulous to me??????

No matter where you placed....The food looks very tempting.  And I'm sure it tastes great.  Those comps are tough.
Glad you feel better.
I know how the pneumonia feels as I have had it myself.   I didn't know how sick I was until I started to get better.  Collasped lung etc.

Limped to Ponchatoula for the comp this past weekend. ??????

Hey I was in Ponchatoula a week or so ago. Stopped for a drink on the way to Middendorf's for catfish. We had the whole family together for the first time in 27 years. We spent a little time in New Orleans, Denham Springs, Hammond and New Iberia. Boy it sure has changed down there. We averaged 5 meals a day trying to get in all of our favorite old restaurants.

Your food looks wonderful.
