SDale, That seems to confirm what I was thinking...I just didn't want to do it and screw something up if doing it the wrong way. You may be right about something else being an advantage, and I looked at the suggestions -- which seem to be good ones. While I feel I am gaining some good background in a lot of things having to do with air rifles, the finer points of mounts are not really 'lost' on me so much as there seem to be a lot of variables. I've seen that type of rail you suggest in a lot of places, but haven't had my hands on one or obviously used them for mounting. I have a few TF rifles with the groves, so I think I'll have a little experimenting to do. And I absolutely understand what you mean about likely having to destroy it to get it off if this is the only way to get it on!
