Scopes Trade/For Sale -- ALL SOLD 12.14.09
« on: November 19, 2009, 11:18:52 AM »
The last three are pretty special -- depends on the kind of shooting you do though. If you want to see any I can provide pictures. 'like new' to me means I mounted and did not fire -- otherwise completely new. Open box mostly means I opened it, looked, decided to put it back. It does NOT mean they were purchased at a discount. Some I opened and put back more than others...e.g., the Nikon. I really wanted an excuse to use it, but with a minimal focusing distance of 50 yards (at least according to the dial, you can see a lot closer than that) it was not good for what I shoot. All scopes come with covers. All in original boxes except as noted. None are dropped shaken stirred or otherwise abused (well, maybe the Tasco).

See pictures here: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=22957&mid=183647#M183647

Too rich for my blood (DAMN IT!!  That would be perfect on my .308!), but just out of curiosity, what reticle does the Nikon have?  You might want to indicate reticles on all of them, it matters to lots of us.  Now how do I convince the wife that I really NEED a $400 rifle scope ....

There are 10 scopes in a wide range there, my bet is you can afford ONE of them ;-) I added the reticle types to the more expensive models. Maybe you can convince her if the price is right? What about $325 for a $400 scope (retail is actually $620) shipping included? I've opened the box quite a few times, so there is wear on the cardboard, lol!

The problem, Doc, is that I really don't NEED another scope.  That .308 already has a Nikon on it, a Pro Staff, but it's only a 3-9 and no AO.  And it's not like I'm shooting it in the back yard like I can with my air guns.  And they all have good to excellent scopes already.  Add in being seriously strapped for cash at the moment, and that means no new glass, no matter how much I might want it :-(.  But good luck to you.  Oh, and one more suggestion.  Put prices on them.  I think a lot of guys are afraid of insulting someone in a "make offer" situation, and therefore they just pass on it.  Just a thought.  Later.

well, how bout if I ask you what you think fair prices are? You won't buy any and I want to be fair to myself and the buyer...

I also don't get insulted by offers -- even if they are well below what I might expect. It is just some people are more creative, and I don't mind dealing with that.

How's $20 each for the 4x32s?  -- naw, actually $20 for the walther and postage for the centerpoint...

That is shipped...I can't go too much lower or I'll be paying to get rid of them!

Sorry, all I know is Made in China. It says Bushnell on it, but I am pretty sure it is NOT a Bushnell. Came in a black box that just said Riflescope on it, and little else. On the other hand, I've used worse scopes!

I'm selling the scopes because I have too many, and I know what I need now. I bought them as a learning experience, much like I bought my RWS 350. I wanted to experience the difference between that rifle and the TF89. In this case, I wanted to see and experience the difference between scopes. The Nikon is too long for me. The Sightron and Leupold do not have AO. All will work on springers, and the normal focus can be adjusted shorter.

What kind of shooting do you do? That will make a difference.

Hunting. Thats about it with the 89. I don't necessarily need AO; just 1 more thing to think about b4 the shot.

Well, I have a Sightron with AO on my TF89 .22, and a Leupold on my TF89 .177. I can recommend either, though the Leupold I have for sale is not Leupold's springer scope (the 3-9x33 EFR Ultralight is). Both Sightron and Leupold said these scopes will be fine on a springer. However, because Leupold has a springer-specific scope, and I happen to like the Sightron just a slight bit more...you may be able to guess my suggestion. The Nikon is really longer range but it is side focus which is a great feature, and I think built for long range.

You might want to consider a tune before mounting either though!

One other thing...What mount were you using? All mounts are NOT the same. Everyone has their favorites, but I am forming an affinity with the Hawke mounts. They are both less expensive and seemingly built better than comparable mounts. I just bought a bunch to replace other mounts I have.

I can get you pictures...They are nice scopes!
