Ahhh. I think you mean "depinger". There's a ping noisefroma pressure wave inside of the air resevior(or air tube). This is something you dont hear unless you have a Marauder-like airgun, which has a shroud or other device that cuts down on the blast noise coming out of the barrel. On the Marauder, the depinger is installed about halfway into the air tube. Its just basically a short round plug with a hole in the center to let air through, so it doesn't impede airflow. Orings usually encircle the outside diameter of the plug/depinger. The depinger is inserted into the air resevior about halfway into the tube, and the orings grip the inside of the tube. Its function is very simple...to disturb thewaves of pressure inside of the airtube, caused when youdischarge(fire) the airgun. It does not affect the longevity of the airgun at all.
I will now try to find a picture of a depinger, and post it, so you can see how simple the design is.
