« on: December 31, 2009, 10:10:05 AM »
Anyone have one of these PCP rifles? Any good reviews of it on the US pages and websites to look at?

How does it compare to Daystate and FX for qualitiy?

i don't have one but a good friend of mine does and it is a fantastic gun.  i really wanted one of them instead of the blizzard but couldn't choke up $1100 for it.  build quality is excellent and so is the fit and finish.  smooth action and it shoots around the 30fpe range.  like i said,...i REALLY wanted one but just didn't have the funds for it.  that's the only reason it isn't in my gun rack right now.

Any idea how it compares to the rifles from Evanix and FX? Rapid maybe?

From what I read(and that is all I know of it, no real life experience) it should be excellent.

Some of the early HW100 rifles had some teething porblems,  but as I understand it, they have been ironed out, I wouls suggest getting a late model HW100, with the quick fill. The HW100 has a reputation for being extremely accurate. Build quality is top of the line Weihrauch, which means top of the heap. The HW100 will compare very favorably with the Theoben Rapid , FX PCP rifles and AA PCP rifles.
The current stable, (arsenal, quiver?): BSA Lightning XL .177, BSA Sportsman HV .22, BSA Ultra .177, CZ634 .177, Daystate Harrier X .177, TAU 200 Senior .177, HW 97 .177, HW 50s .177, HW 30 .177, RWS 92 .177, Gamo 126 MC Super, Gamo Big Cat .177, AR2078A, QB78 .177, Quest 1000 .177, Beeman SS650 .177., Beeman P17 .177.

Hello,

Mine is a HW 100T .22 FAC.

Very acurate gun, at 22 yards, using Beeman Baracuda Match 21gr, in 10 shots put 8 in the very same hole.

If I can point something, this is the little reservoir, but You will get at least 42 very good shots filling it at 180 BAR.

Surely better than the basic FX models, but if You will compare with Royal, well, then I don't know....

But, anyway, I think with HW You can't go wrong...

I have had AirArms S410 2009 model, S410 carbine, Marauder, MFR, Blizzard, and FX Whisper.  The HW100 (i believe is a 2008 or 2009 with quick fill) is better than most listed.  I would rate of those listed as:
 1. MFR, 2. HW100, 3. S410.  I favor the sidelever action of the S410 and HW100 over the MFR.  The accuracy of the 3 are all very good to outstanding.  The shot consistancy is HW100, MFR, then of course the S410 as it has no regulator.  s410 still has a great shot curve.  I favor the HW100 first for the quick fill, then S410 followed by the MFR... unless you have a custom quick fill installed on the MFR.  Now for the bad news... The HW100 is equal to a .22 shot as far as sound.  There is a new model that is due out with a full barrel shroud... but no idea when it will be available.  You will need to call some dealers?  Precision, Ponoma, Straight shooters..?  They all have the HW100 Listed...

I don't know that an MFR is. Is this the 'Rapid' I read about on another forum where so many are sure that is the best air rifle in the world?

In reading a lot more I see BSA and Rapid as both having a good shot count before requiring a refill. Is the HW 100 in the same ballpark as these two in that respect?

Will be getting something in a PCP .177 in the future and want a good one, top of the line quality. Still have research to do and it is possible I may even be able to get somewhere this next summer to fire some different rifles before making the decision.

Theoben makes several models.

MFR is their smaller airtube model.  280cc bottle.  with Regulator. The Rapids are usually 400cc bottle normally unregulated, but you can add regulator. Check out Theoben USA website to see all of the models if you are not familiar.  http://www.theobenusa.com
