I contacted Air Gun Depot by e-mail and telephone last week. The e-mail response was: ( I believe our 22 CFX has the plastic trigger). Believe to me means the person replying doesn't know the answer. The telephone response was: (Our CFX has the metal trigger). Sounded to me like that person was telling me what I wanted to hear. But, maybe not! So who do you believe? Neither person looked in a CFX Box to physically check the trigger. Perhaps LongIslandArcher will let us know about the trigger when his arrives in the mail. I will without hesitation order the CFX from Air Gun Depot it has the metal trigger.  :emoticon:

I got a ship notification from PA that my CFX Royal shipped.  Let's see if this one has the metal trigger.  No ship notification from AGD yet.

I have some observations on Gamo CFX Syn 22 caliber version from AG Depot. I am very interested in thEIR CFX depending on the metal/plastic trigger issue. If you look closely it doesn't have the covered or globe front sight and the rear end of the receiver plastic piece is blunt shaped. My CFX in .177 (appx one year old) has the globe front sight and the receiver plastic piece is pointed. I'm not sure of the significance of these items? Can anyone add some light to my observations good or bad?

My old CFX in .177 cal. didn't come with a globed front sight; it had the fiber optic.  I've since removed the open sights and am strictly shooting it using a scope.

The Royal I bought from Gene (must be a 2004 since it has 04 on the barrel code) has what looks like the standard rounded black plastic end cap as used on the steel barreled Shadows.

I recently called Gamo about the CFX 22. The lady I talked to indicated that Gamo stopped producing the 22 version about a year ago. However, she did not have a reason. Perhaps it  might be worthwhile to research our CFX 22 some more, by talking to someone else at Gamo. Now, maybe the CFX 22 that AG Depot offers are the older models (close outs) with the very important metal trigger.
