Mine was a .177. I don't know if this makes any sense, but for thet kind of weight I think I would prefer it in .22. I bought mine new at a gun show, believe it or not. I had the Centerpoint 4x16 on it and it wasa very effectivecombination.
It would be easy enough to replace the leather seal, although I didn't. This is one of the few guns I have actually sold. It was my second springer, and it just wasn't getting shot due to my subsequent acquisition binge. Needless to say, I regretted it almost immediately. I am an airgun hoarder.
There used to be a really great online guide for the QB36-2that a gentleman had on his personal site, but it is long gone. It was a complete rebuild including a delrin seal replacement. I wish I had saved that off line- now I usually do when I find a resource like that. He also crowned and fire-lapped the barrel. I did the old toothpaste and brass screw trick and it virtually eliminated flyers, if I kept the stock screws tight.
You better let us know what you end up doing! Might want to take a look at Jaymo's....
