I understood; I just wanted to pass on an alternate experience is all - sounds like it's luck of the draw if you don't have an "insider".
I like it. I hate the look of the front sight, which is shared by most or all Mendozas. I will probably remove it and the rear sight altogether once I get it scoped.
The wood is quite nice. The stock shape is a little goofy in my opinion, so I'll probably fix that too at some point soon. Bluing is nice. I have not been inside the gun. The compression tube is LONG on this gun and so the proportions are a little odd.
(Gee, sounds like I have a lot of complaints. To be frank, it's a nice looking gun but can be improved.) Haven't shot it a great deal yet but it is accurate and relatively smooth so far. For $69 (I bought it when a free shipping deal was going on), I think it's a great buy, as quirky as it is.
