first do your pellet grouping tests and find out what pellets your rifle likes. Once you have a couple of pellets to choose from you can pick the pellet that you feel will serve you better when hunting. Predators are excellent hunting pellets if your gun likes em, but you'd have to get the magazines modified in order to use them unless you want to use the single shot tray that's available, I have one and it works well. Hollow points such as Crow Mags or my favorite hollow point which is the the RWS Super Hollow Point are good, especially for closer ranges. You can never go wrong with a good domed pellet, like the CPL's or CPHP's (yes I know the cphp's are technically a hollow point, but I regard them as a domed pellet as that little dimple on them doesn't really expand). As for pointed pellets,,,, I've never been fond of them in my hunting rifles. While I do have a couple of rifles that will shoot them well the majority of my rifles hate them and give poor accuracy.
See what your rifle likes first then make your choice.
