CFX plastic trigger

It doesn't seemed that bad after taking it apart. At least the 3  pins doesn't need to be removed to remove the trigger and sear. So if somebady want to make a aftermarket trigger.....it is not impossible I think. Although not as easily drop in as the old metal trigger group.
The plastic plate was held in place with 2 T-8 screws.

Yep it looks like the same mouse trap Gamo is putting on all the new guns except the Extreme which would eat that up in 10 shots..

Still think Gamo went the wrong direction with the newer design. :0 They already had a simple design that could be transformed into a great trigger with the GRT-III drop in. Ed

I was quite worry when I got this....but after shooting it awhile and adjusting the only adjustment screw that it has it doesn't feel bad at all. The break of the sear is quite crisp and very preditable although it is just a one stage trigger. I open the trigger intended to polish the strut and sear to make the action better but it turns out that they are with nice smoothness and the tapered metal plate done a nice job keeping the action all in  one plane(much better than the metal trigger CFX that I have)

After a few assembly and disassembly, I come to appreciate the tail block/trigger group....it really make the process much easier. Once the front of the assembly catch the right place, the rest of it just glide in. And the whole action drop in the stock nice and accurate...without any small parts to worry about.

One thing more is that the spring housing length after cocking the gun is a little bit shorter than its metal trigger brother so the cylinder of the crosman gas ram is a bit (.5-1 cm)longer and cannot be fitted to the gun. I still have to see if the JM E3650 spring will fit in.

I am still waiting for a couple of 1" Flexhone for a complete tunning.

Out of the box it shoots RWS hobby pellet 11.9 grain quite well.

It chronoed an average of 762.4 fps with an extreme spread of 9.48 fps for a 10 shot string.

Depending on the Flex Hone, I would be very leary of using one as it can easily cause damage to the compression chamber. I have seen quite a few that took quite a bit of work to repair. They certainly should not be used for compression chamber honing.

Thank you  very much for the advice Bob. I have ordered a Flex hone with AO(aluminium oxide) will it be less abrasive and better?

The GRT III triggers I've order has just arrived and I am going to install it into my order CFX with metal trigger.

If you are going to use it at all, I would only use it on the upper section of the action tube and use a brake cylinder hone with 220/320 grit stones in the compression chamber itself. Using 400/440 stones is to fine and will not allow the needed lube for the seal and the lube bypass for the combustion chamber needed for the power development. 400/440 or finer grit should be used only for leather seals that need a very smooth sealing surface.

A big welcome to the GTA forum and family Joe.  Anybody notice the man`s from Hong Kong?  Didn`t even know they allowed airguns in that colony.  Hey Joe.....where do you shoot?....In a gun/pistol range....since there`s not much open space in HK.  Btw....great photos on the opened-up trigger assembly.  Seems you know your stuff.  I haven`t the courage to do any trigger polishing yet.
