I wish that were the case here Jeff. A crow has not landed on my property for several months, but I am seeing the first Grackles arriving and making their annoying mating sounds.
I shot one out of 2 on my property yesterday from 30yds out with the Condor .25 using a JSB 25.4gr. Stopped it in its tracks (of course) as it was slowly walking and lifting up leaves looking for food. I could see through the scope @ 18x magn. that it still had a round seed in its mouth. But it was raining and the winds blowing @ 40-50mph so I never went outside yesterday so it became critter dinner last night because it was gone this morning.
Just south of me in Rockland and North Jersey the winds got up to 60-65mph causing power outages. Both my brother and mother in law lost power for a few hours. Luckily the winds never got to more than 50mph up here, averaging 35-40mph.
Oh guess what? A squirrel has been visiting every morning around 8am for the last few days! Hopefully they will breed well this summer so I can taste some game again in the winter

I doubt I will be able to ignore them for the entire season as I was thinking of doing. I wanted to give them a break for at least a full year but I don't see that happening

I started getting withdrawals by just watching that one squirrel burry food in my yard these past 3-4 days, hehe.
I saw a couple of dead G-hogs by the side of the road a few blocks from here too. I bet they were trying to make it to "Harry's famous shed motel", hehehe
