It's all a matter of what an individual likes. I started with a pumper as a kid. Got a hand me down CO2 and didn't shoot for 25 years. Then broke out the CO2 when the Chippers started digging burrows into the basement. When the CO2 seals failed, I bought a springer (Remington Vantage). That's when my learning curve accelerated...because the Remington was just NOT accurate.
Today, I still have the Remington that I did a home Super Tune on....also have a Gamo Whisper, as well as a Discovery (177) and Maurader (22) as well as a Crosman NPSS (22 cal). I love them all. Shoot all of them daily. Each one has a different "personality" that if you know and understand, allow you to get great groups in the center of the bull...or take out a chipper on the first shot. For me, each of these weapons has a purpose...short range, medium range, or long range....and that's how I use em. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
Does one rifle fill all the requirements...well, that depends on what you are doing with them...for me, I like them all and use them for different things depending on their and my capabilities.
Variety is the spice of life, and luckily we live in a country that allows us to enjoy the spice.
